May 9, 2017

If people remark about how nice you are, you can thanks reading for your demeanor. People who read are more likely to act in a socially acceptable manner than people who are glued to the TV, according to the researchers. A group of people were asked their leisure activity was reading or watching TV.  Then, interpersonal skills were tested.  The results showed that people who preferred reading fiction showed positive social behaviors, and were empathetic. But those who preferred watching TV came across as less friendly and less understanding of others' views. The researchers believe those who read book more are able to see things from other people's points of views, making them better at understanding others than others who prefer to watch television.
