Are You Ready For World Naked Gardening Day?

May 5, 2017

Today is the 5th of May, which many refer to as Cinco De Mayo, the day the Mexican Army defeated French forces at the Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862.  In The United States we celebrate it with Mexican food and Mexican libations, which may explain why the following day is World Nude Gardening Day. While an annual tradition that celebrates weeding, planting flowers and trimming hedges in the buff, organizers say it isn't about exposing your body to other people.  Corky Stanton of Clothes Free International says “It’s about body acceptance and being one with nature on your own."  If you plan on participating, remember to do some surveying first to make sure you aren't exposing yourself to neighbors and the public as that could land you in trouble. In fact organizers suggest planting a hedge this year so that you may participate next year hidden behind a fully grown hedge!
