You hear it more often than not, you are spending too much time on your phone.  Form emails to social media, we have a BFF relationship with our mobile device.  And don't think your dog haven't noticed!  The modern obsession of staring at screens may be causing pooches to suffer from anxiety and depression and the results are an unruly dog who may destroy property and attack people!  It's because dogs are much like the wolf ancestors, they turn to us, their pack leaders, for advice on what to do next. However, if owners are not giving their pets feedback they panic because they do not understand why you are not responding. For instance, in a dog's mind, should a chase the neighbor’s cat?  Let me get approval from the Alpha.  If you are not paying attention to the scene to give instructions and your nose is buried in your phone not paying attention, the dog will panic and will simply goes ahead and does what it wants. The same is true is you are having a heated discussion on the phone.  Your dog think you are talking to him/her. So make time for your dog and reassure them with love your time, leave your phone in your pocket when walking them and make sure to give them a bunch of attention, especially when you've been gone for much of the day.
