Why We Shop On Black Friday

Why is it we sleep in on our days off, seek out the shortest checkout lines and resist complicated schedules for every other day of our lives, except Black Friday?  Leave it to a psychologist to explain why.  For some, it's tradition and tradition brings back memories from the past and creates new ones.  For others it’s hanging out with people they don't normally socialize with on one activity everyone agrees on. Ironically, finding a bargain is not high on the list for most.  It's the fact we're spending time together and if that means long lines, early hours and complex shopping schedules mixed into saving a few bucks, that is reason enough!
