Beach day!  Although it hard to find something to unite the world but multiple studies from the United Kingdom to japan to the United States all concur that hanging out on the beach increases happiness, general well-being and even brain function. Even living in a home with a view of the ocean are calmer compared to those without a sea view. But is it just a state of mind?  Not necessarily. Data published in Medical Daily reveals ocean water contains minerals that can help the body fight infection and breathing in the salty sea air may help people sleep better at night. If this still isn't enough to convince you to head to the beach, other research has shown listening to the sound of waves can help activate the parasympathetic nervous system, which promotes relaxation and can even put you in a meditative-like state.
