You had a smartphone for years and over that time you may have purchased an app that incurs a monthly fee. Fortunately payment credentials registered with Apple or Google means you'll quickly be able to see if you are still being charged for them. However this doesn't always work if subscribed for a service through your computer.  But there is a quick way to find out without sifting through bank statements. To check up on your Apple subscriptions, head to the Settings app on your iOS device, then tap your name, then iTunes & App Store. Hit the Apple ID link at the top, then View Apple ID, then Subscriptions. The next screen shows you all the subscriptions handled by Apple, including Apple Music. If you decide to cancel any of them, you can do so from this screen. On Android, open the Google Play Store app on your device, then tap the menu button (the three horizontal lines on the top left), then choose Account, then Subscriptions. You'll see a list of all the subscriptions, such as Google Play Music, handled through Google. You can cancel them from here too.  Both techniques allow you to change your subscriptions too, such as opting for the commercial free version of Hulu instead of the limited commercial option.
