New research suggests tattooed people sweat less.  Apparently skin containing tattoos produced less sweat than areas without ink and those areas produce sweat with a higher sodium concentration. Perhaps the sweat glands are damaged during the tattooing process damages as ink is placed under the skin at the same depth as sweat glands. The long term effects are still unknown but considering sweat is necessary to regulate body temperature, sweating less can cause the body to overheat and be a precursor for heatstroke and death.
