Millennials are getting a bad rap about being lazy, entitled and special.  According to Bankrate.com, Baby Boomers are far more entitled than Millennials.  When asked about the appropriate age you should be hitting major life milestones, the Millennials surveyed said people should be able to pay for their own housing at 22 years of age, pay for their own car at 20.5 years of age and be responsible for their own cell phone plan at 18.5 years of age.  By comparison, Baby Boomers who were asked the same questions answered about a year and a half later in age than their younger counterparts. While it is true that around 40% of Millennials still live at home with their parents, the costs of home ownership is significantly higher as well as home rentals as well as high student loan debt and stagnant wages.  An analyst at Bankrate.com, said in a statement on the survey that “It’s refreshing to see that millennials really do have high expectations of gaining financial independence and getting off their parents’ payroll.”
