Spring Clean Tips You May Not Know

March 30, 2017

With spring officially arriving last week and temperatures approaching 90, spring cleaning may be on your mind.  So we've found some good info to help you on your quest for home cleanliness!  Most cleaners make common mistakes when cleaning.  For instance, do you only change your vacuum bag when it is completely full?  Sounds like you should but vacuum bags should be replaced when it is 2/3 full, which is about every six to eight weeks.  As the bag reaches 2/3 full, suction power begins to be reduced.  Plus any food you sucked up will begin to attract mold and create a bitter smell that is blown throughout the house.  Avoid cleaning windows when the sun is shining through them.  The sun rays will cause the cleaning solution to dry too quickly and will leave lasting streak marks. Clean then when the windows are out of sunlight. Clean out your washing machine every 40 washes with 1/4 cup of baking soda in the drum and 1/2 a cup of vinegar in the detergent drawer with hot water to eliminate odors. Clean your mattress by sprinkling baking soda on it leaving it on for 3-4 hours, then vacuum up.
