Those quarters in your purse, pocket or jar may be worth a lot more than twenty-five cents.  According to collectors certain quarters made in the early 1980s are worth anywhere from $2 to $25. So search your change for quarters dated 1982 and 1983.  Back then the country was in a recession and for those two years, the U.S. Mint did not offer uncirculated sets for collectors. So if you have a quarter from 1982 and/or 1983 and it's in decent shape, you could be in for a hefty payday.  According to the web site, Coin Values, they estimate a 1982 quarter minted in Philadelphia (marked with a P) in extremely fine condition is worth $2.50 and one minted in Denver (marked with a D) is with $2.  Even more desired are 1983 quarters, marked with a D valued at $4 and marked with a P valued at $6.  If you're lucky enough to find a mint condition 1983-P quarter, it could be worth $25. Since you're taking a peek at your change, if you happen to stumble across a 1968 mint condition quarter, it may be worth thousands of dollars as one sold in 2015 for $4,241.75.
