Smithsonian Seeks Beer Lover for $64,500 Salary

July 29, 2016

Put those years of college parties to good use and become the newest employee of the Smithsonian National Museum of American History.  They are on hunt for an official beer historian, who can focus and dedicate efforts towards research, documentation, and collecting American brewing history. The 36 month job for the Smithsonian Food History project means traveling across the country to dozens of the over 4,000 craft beer breweries, sampling their product and compile a report destined to be archived for the rest of time. The project aims to fill in the gap of Americana food from the post 1960s era through today. The best part of the job, besides traveling and drinking beer?  It pays $64,650 a year, plus benefits.  You can apply for the beer historian position by completing the application and providing a cover letter, resume and three references by August 10th to Abigail Karow at NMAHApplications@si.edu.
