Addiction comes in many forms, from drugs, to gambling, to food to shopping. 1 in 12 people are addicted to shopping and it's just a devastating as any other. Compulsive Buying Disorder not necessarily a psychological disorder on its own, but is reflective of an underlying disorder such as anxiety, anger management, depression or low self-esteem. The compulsive buying usually starts in the late teens or early twenties, and is usually chronic, with symptoms that include hiding purchases from loved ones, buying things to compensate for negative feeling and accumulating mounds of debt and knowing you need to control it, yet unable to do so.  Usually professional help is needed, like with all addictions, so that you are able to control your impulses for healthy relationship with shopping.
