Waking up can be one of the most stressful parts of your day and many of us count on a cup of coffee and a shower to wake us up.  Most likely you've got the coffee down pat but apparently we're taking showers wrong.  Hot showers are not helpful in waking you up. Once you get out of that steamy shower, the cold air that greets you when you get out actually sends you back into a tranquil state. Enter the 90 second shower shock that is said to invigorate your morning.  Here is how it works, after you do your normal shower, turn off the hot water and stand under cold water for 30 seconds.  Then turn the hot water back on for 30 seconds.  Finally, turn off the hot water again for 30 seconds.  The shock between hot and cold opens your capillaries which increases blood circulation and therefore energizing your mind and body.  It also reduces your stress by building up your tolerance level, strengthen your immune system and has an anti-depression effect.
