Shoppers would rather deal with technology than humans

March 23, 2018

So it turns out shoppers don't enjoy being nagged by sales people!! A recent survey by HRC Retail Advisory found that shoppers would prefer when shopping for apparel to use in store technology for customer service over retail workers. 85% of those surveyed wanted to be able to check the prices without asking an associate, and 76% rated an in-store app that would provide information important. “It’s not that they don’t want any service at all, but what consumers increasingly want is to be able to control the service they are looking for,” Farla Efros, president of HRC Retail Advisory, told Reuters. (NY POST) This trend however did not apply to shoppers looking for electronics. The majority of respondants said they would prefer human assistance while shopping in specific area of a store. What do you think?
