Shoplifting Couple Escape Into Secured Police Parking Lot

Police in Peoria, Arizona has a pretty easy day arresting a couple for shoplifting last week.  According to the filed report, a couple of people decided they'd help themselves to some merchandise inside a gas station.  Officers were very quick to respond and the dynamic duo fled the scene on foot. They ran alongside a nearby building and hoping to get an advantage from police, decided to hop a fence to avoid capture.  However in their haste the couple failed to notice the fence they were jumping landed them in the middle of the Peoria Police Department's secured lot.  If only they had seen the huge “Peoria Police” sign that could clearly be seen along their escape route.  While one tried to hide under a bench inside the lot and in direct sight of a security camera, the other hopped back over the fence where the pursuing officers were there to catch him as he fell.   The moral of the story, if you're going to do something as stupid as shoplifting, don't do it right next to a police station.
