Friday is historically one of the biggest shopping days of the year and many shoppers will be hitting the toy aisle for discount deals.  One thing rarely thought about is toy safety.  We assume toys being sold are safe and the scary fact is that isn't always true.  The U.S. Public Interest Research Group released its 31st annual “Trouble In Toyland” report, which highlights 44 different toys, from bicycles to hover boards that have been recalled for safety reasons, such as lead paint and exploding batteries.  Although it is illegal to purchase toys that have been officially recalled, the group was able to purchase 6 of the 44 recalled items off the Internet.  Two ways you can keep your children safe from recalled toys.  First, you can sign up for e-mail alerts about recalls at www.recalls.gov. Second you can view an entire list of the hundreds of recalled toys at the Consumer Product Safety Commission at safe products.gov [LINKS BELOW].
