Besides beaches, palm trees and flamingos, Florida is know for Publix!  In fact the grocery store chain tied for first place as America's favorite grocer.  There is so much passion for Publix that a high school has created a musical about Publix! The Harrison School of the Arts in Lakeland created a hopefully broadway-bound perfornace titled, "When You Dream" that is centered around Publix founder, George Jenkins adn it's packed with singing and dancing as it recounts the growth of Publix as well as Jenkin's  philanthropy.  The performance was originally held for the Lakeland Chamber of Commerce on January 26 and will have an encore performance on April 7th aththe school's Roll out the Red Carpet Gala if you so want to attend!

Students from Harrison School for the Arts debuted a musical about Publix Super Markets founder George Jenkins and his legacy of giving Thursday night at the annual meeting of the Greater Lakeland Chamber of Commerce. The play and lyrics were written by Harrison Principal Daryl Ward (@hsaprincipal) with music by Tyler Campbell, a Lakeland High School English teacher. The production was directed by faculty members Suzi Lambert and Laurel Renfroe. Ryland Marbutt, a recent Harrison grad now studying at Pace University in New York City, played George Jenkins. The musical will be performed again April 7 at Harrison's Roll out the Red Carpet gala. #lkld #publix
