It's hard to believe that 2018 is less than two weeks way and while we can't gaze into the future the web site DealNews did a roundup of items that ae projected to cost more in the New Year.  Items that will cost you more cash are smartphones, with the latest Apple iPhone costing $999 the Google Pixel 2 XL launched at $849, experts say this trend will continue as the devices get better. Traveling will cost more in 2018 with Global Business Travel Association expects that prices on airlines will rise by 3.5% and hotel prices increasing by 3.7%.  Increases in fuel costs and a stronger global economy is to blame. While some grocery items, like dairy, beef, and eggs have been falling recently, the Consumer Price Index estimates that overall prices for groceries will increase by 1% to 2% next year. However there are some items that should cost cheaper like organic groceries thanks to Amazon's purchase of Whole Foods and other organic retailers following price cuts to compete. You can score a 4K television for cheaper in 2018, especially during the two weeks leading up to the Super Bowl. Used cars are expected to be a steal with the average used car dropping 17% in value. Part of the reason for the trend is that car leases have become more popular and affordable, so when those leases expire, that leads to a larger used car inventory. More supply, less demand.
