Playing Golf is Great Exercise

June 8, 2017

When you think of exercise you might not think of golf, but you should! Macmillioan Cancer Support, a cancer charity in the U.K., says during a single round of golf, players walk four to eight miles, which would burn around 1,564 calories if you carry your own golf clubs. Since a round of golf equates to about 240 minutes of moderate intensive activity, it goes beyond the U.K. Department of Health's recommendation that adults do at least 150 minutes of moderate intense activity per week. A previous study of 300,000 Swedish golfers found that they had a death rate of 40 percent lower than other people of the same sex, age and socioeconomic status.
