How many secrets are you keeping?  Research published in the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology looked into the secret-keeping habits of two thousand people and says the average person keeps anywhere from 13 to 38 secrets at any one time. Romantic topics were at the top of the secret pool with romantic desire of someone other than your partner, sexual behavior and infidelity.  Financial and hobbies secrets and flat out lies were the most widely kept categories of secret.  But of those closed lips, over a third of them are leaked out to someone with abortion, marriage proposals and sexual orientation the most leaked. Perhaps it has to do with the person who holds secrets, who feel burdened with the knowledge.  The study authors suggest to keep yourself from feeling these negative thoughts by trying to think about them less.
