According to the Social Security Administration Liam and Emma were the most popular newborn names for 2017.  The annual list shows that Emma, Olivia, Ava, Isabella and Sophia are the top 5 names for girls born last year, while Liam, Noah, William, James and Logan round out the top 5 for boys.  However the popularity of artificial intelligence (AI) has created a downward spiral of parents naming their child Alexa.  Since Amazon introduced The Echo and its AI software that responds to the name, Alexa, the name itself has dropped 21.3% in 2016 and an additional 19.5% drop last year.  Last year, 3,883 babies were named Alexa compared to 6,050 in 2015. Siri has is not particularly popular. It did peak two years prior to the assistant's launch in 2011, with 120 girls named Siri. Last year, 20 babies were named Siri.
