Odds of Winning Powerball and Mega Millions Better Because Of Illinois

June 30, 2017

Your odds of winning Mega Millions tonight  and Powerball Saturday just got better thanks to an unfortunate situation in Illinois.  That state has been without an approved budget for three years and the way the laws for the multi state lottery work is if someone in Illinois wins, because there is no appropriation from the legislature to fund the prize payments, they couldn't pay the winning prize. So the Multi-State Lottery Association has suspended sales of Powerball and Mega Millions until the Illinois budget crisis is over. What's more, anyone who wins any prize of $25,000 or more in Illinois will have to wait to collect the money. Lawmakers are in special session trying to strike a deal resume payment on a record $14.5 billion of unpaid bills that began 700 days ago!
