For some reason the Internet is getting loud!  Visiting web sites, especially news sites, now means an automatically playing video is slowly loading and no matter what you do you can't stop it from beginning and basically reading the story you wanted to read!  Or while quietly reading a story an annoying ad for toilet clean blares out of your speaker!  Well thanks to Google Chrome, you cast a Harry Potter spell to silence them and not just once but forever! It's easy to do! Simply right click your mouse over any tab for a pop up window to open. Navigate to "mute site" and your Internet experience just got as quiet as a library.  You can even do a pre-emptive silence by selecting it even if the site isn't currently playing video so that when that ad pops up, you won't be jolted by it. Apparently it's a win-win.  Web sites receive more money from video ads than static, so with this setting the video ad will play out (just muted) so they get paid and you keep your sanity. Just make sure you are running the most current version of Google Chrome.
