Need a favor?  Rather than send an email asking for it, visit them in person.  A Harvard Business Review report shows that a face-to-face encounter is 34 times morel likely to garner positive responses you want than through cold emails.  Although the participants though the effects would be equal between a personal encounter and that of an email, a previous study found that most people have trouble understanding the tone of an email, so it makes sense the personal touch would be more effective.
