Money Can Buy Your Happiness But There Is A Limit

February 21, 2018

The old saying is that money can't buy you happiness.  In reality it can improve your mood but only up to a certain limit.  The study shows that $60,000-$75,000 is the ideal individual amount for emotional well-being and $95,000 is the ideal amount for overall satisfaction. That's the sweet spot.  When you start to include more money than is needed to meet their basic needs their well-being begins to decline. The decline may be linked to people obtaining more material possessions and comparing their lifestyle to peers. However another study found that money can buy happiness but it's the definition of happiness that changes from person to person. So you could make $15,000 annually and be content compared to someone making $1.5million and feeling miserable.
