Marion County Park Closed Due to Aggressive Alligator

August 8, 2016

Marion County residents have one less place to cool down this summer. K.P. Hole Park, on the Rainbow River in Dunnellon, is temporarily closed due to an aggressive alligator spotted near the popular park.  Its agressive nature and size could be a threat to the dozens of swimmers, tubers, kayakers and canoers who frequent the recreation area. County park officials say that the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission has contacted a trapper that is actively seeking the alligator.  Until then, the park will remain closed.
