And you thought your coffee maker was just for coffee!   We stumbled across a hack in where your coffee pot can be used to create pickles!  OMG, are you kidding?  And we've got instructions on how you can make your very own crispy and delicious pickles with these steps.  First, run water mixed with 2 tablespoons of vinegar through your coffee maker to clean and prevent your pickles from a faint coffee flavor.  Then gather up ingredients:

  • 3 cups water
  • 2 cups white vinegar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon mustard seeds
  • 1 tablespoon coriander seeds
  • 1 tablespoon red chili flakes
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 4 Persian cucumbers, sliced
  • 2 bell peppers, julienned
  • 1/4 red onion, sliced
  • 6 sprigs fresh dill

Fill the coffee maker with 3 cups of water and the coffee pot with 2 cups white vinegar, mustard seeds, chili flakes, salt, sugar to the coffee pot and press the brew button.  Once brewed, turn the pot off and give the brine a mix. Add chopped cucumbers, red onion and bell peppers and dill and then place the coffee pot in the refrigerator for 2 hours. Viola!  Enjoy those fresh, crispy pickle right there or store them in an air-tight container. Enjoy!
