Major Retailers Market Their Own line of Craft Beers

January 30, 2017

You know that craft beers have arrived when major corporations begin to market and sell their own version.  Last year, Walmart quietly launched its own craft beers under the names, Cat’s Away IPA, After Party Pale Ale, and Pack of Trouble. However you will never find a mark that it is made by Walmart or for Walmart stores only.  The cold brew is actually made by Trouble Brewing, which is brewed at Genesee Brewing in Rochester, New York, which is owned by Florida AIe and Farm which makes a Costa Rican beer. However they are cheaper than craft beers by as much as $5 and Walmart is following other major retailers, such as Costco, which sells a craft beer under its Kirkland's brand. It does lead to a discussion what is considered a craft beer.
