While dark chocolate has more health benefits than lighter versions, it's the opposite for coffee.  A new study suggests that light roast coffee may contain more levels of chlorogenic acid, a well-known antioxidant, than dark roast. They discovered the lighter the roast, the higher the chlorogenic acid content-- and the better the coffee extract protected human cells against damage and inflammation when tested in a lab. Though the findings would need to be replicated in human trials to confirm the results, it's possible they could translate to real-life benefits.
