Intermittent Fasting Can Boost Your Workout And Fat Loss

Imagine a diet where you can eat whatever you want and still lose weight.  That catch is that for two days of the week, you must fast, or eat only 500 to 600 calories!  While the so-called 5:2 diet is just one of many that include fasting, there's new research that suggest fasting is not so bad.  In fact paired with moderate aerobic exercise, intermittent food deprivation may enhance endurance and kick fat-burning into high gear. The research in mice found that those who fasted for regular periods of time burned fat instead of sugars during exercise, which allowed them to work out for 20% to 30% longer because fats are a more efficient energy source. Researchers even suggest that intermittent fasting might improve overall health and reduce risk factors for diabetes and cardiovascular disease. As with any diet, consult your doctor first and weight their opinion before beginning any new regime affecting your health.
