How Balloons Are Selected For Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade

Tomorrow is thanksgiving and it's all about tradition.  Waking up to scour ads for black Friday deals, preparing to cook Thanksgiving dinner and all the while, Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade is on the TV.  With the bands, floats, celebrities and of course gigantic balloons. But why are some balloons used year after year and others only once?  Two factors decide which balloon will be filled with helium for its trip down Manhattan.
