There's something about getting new clothes that just makes you feel great and wear then without washing them first!  Then there are those who can't wash new clothes because you've got to "leave the tags on" so you can take back after a big event.  After hearing this story you definitely will want to wash all your new clothes the second they come in your home.  Those new duds could be crawling with lice, scabies, or fungus. EWW!!!!  Because, while you may love the dress, the previous person who tried it on could have hated it and also been a carrier of lice.  Scabies are tiny mites that burrow into your skin and can also be lurking in that new clothing item.  There have been some suggestions that cases of lice and scabies could be linked back to clothing.  Both scabies and lice can be treated with topical solutions, but it’s better to kill them by washing new clothes in hot water. Besides the living organisms, your new clothes are generally covered in toxic chemicals. Formaldehyde is commonly used in fabrics to help ward off mold in case stock gets wet in transit and keep them mostly wrinkle-free. From catching parasites to allergic reactions to chemicals in clothes, most of these issues can be easily avoided by washing clothing before wearing.
