In yet another sign of that traditional brick and mortar stores are in trouble, Gander Mountain has announced all of its 126 stores, including the Ocala store, will be closing.  However that is not necessarily true even though Gander Mountain web site says all stores are liquidating the entire inventory.  Back in March Gander Mountain declared bankruptcy after 57 years of operation.  But as the company's went on the chopping block, Camping World and other companies, including liquidation companies, purchased the Gander Mountain name, web site and store locations. The good news is appears that Camping World will keep most of the Gander Mountain stores open, including the stores in Ocala, Jacksonville and Valdosta, Georgia.  But the current inventory will be liquidated, which is why the Gander Mountain stores and web site are making the statement.  That is particularly important if you have a Gander Mountain gift card or store credit.  You will need to use it before May 18th or they become worthless.  After May 18th, Camping World will take over Gander Mountain, using the Gander Mountain name, but using inventory that Camping World feels comfortable selling.  So in short, same store, new owners, different rules.
