Gambler Robs Bank To Keep In Black Jack Game

August 5, 2016

When it comes to gambling, the house always wins but it didn't stop Kerry Johnson of Charleston, West Virginia from playing black jack at the Mardi Gras Casino.  Tuesday, he wasn't having much luck at the Blackjack table and as his wallet got lighter and lighter, he eventually ran out of money.  Apparently Johnson still wanted to play, so he left the casino in his black Mazda Miata and allegedly robbed a bank.  He handed a note to the teller who handed over the money and Johnson left the bank and headed right back to the casino and picked up right where he left off.  Police were able to track down the stolen money and confirmed some of it was used at the casino.  Allegedly the rest of it was stuffed under his home's sofa couch, where police arrested Johnson the following day.  They found fistfuls of large denomination currency shoved down inside the couch where he had been sleeping when they knocked on the door.  Police also say they found the notepad allegedly used by Johnson in the robbery.  Johnson could face up to 30 years in prison.
