Fear Really Does Have A Smell

Many people fear Friday the 13th and with Halloween just a few days away, fear lingers in the air. That lingering fear actually has a smell too!  As ridiculous as it sounds, you can smell fear.  Actually fear doesn't have a scent but the pheromones produced when animals are afraid.  Animals release pheromones from bodily fluids, such as sweat and urine that send signals to other animals of the same species.  We don't smell these scents in the same way we would smell a fresh-baked apple pie or a fire burning in the fireplace. Animals detect these chemicals in what is easily explained as an axially scent path.  It would make sense that humans can also smell fear but further testing is needed to confirm or deny this claim.
