Battling heartburn and suffering through digestive issues?  Try a little bit of cinnamon.  An unexpected benefit of the spice shows that it actually lowers the temperature of your stomach by almost 4 degrees, which in turn can aid in digestion of food and can even help protect the lining of the stomach and small intestines. The study published in Live Science used pigs for the study but feel the results and pigs that ate cinnamon saw a "significant improvement in their overall health."  Researchers say one gram of cinnamon a day should produce health benefits in humans. But keep in mind that the US Department of Health says eating 6 grams of cinnamon or more a day for six weeks or longer can be toxic.
