Trying to save money can be one of the hardest things to accomplish when you are running the finances but you can score an extra $1,000 a year by making a couple of tweaks to your life.  The best part is these adjustments shouldn't change your current lifestyle!  For instance, instead of dining out with friends once a week, work on hosting a pot luck dinner and BYOD tastings.  Just by cutting out one weekly meal can save you as much as $50 and that equals $450 a year.  Do you really need 5GB of data on your phone plan?  If you only use 2GB, then cut down your plan, which could save you from $10 to $20 a month, which is $100 to $200 a year. Rather than running to the vending machine for a $2 candy bar, organize an office snack system where each co-worker brings in a snack for all and pool your resources.  The potential savings could be upwards of $135 a year. Finally and probably the easiest is to set up an automatic transfer of $15 a day to your savings account.  If the money isn't there, you won't spend it and $15 a day adds up to $1,000 a year!
