There is some conflicting information in the world of shampoos and conditioners. With an entire aisle dedicated to cleaning the hair on your head, the simplest one of them all are the two-in-one shampoo conditioner.  While there are camps of opinions on the validity of the two-in-one, according to a haircare expert it depends on your hair type and length as to if you should consider using this time saver. Penny James is the head of the International Association of Trichologists, which is the study of hair and she says those with thick coarse hair should use a moisturizing shampoo followed by a cream based conditioner that will smooth the cuticle and leave your hair feeling manageable, if you did not take this step to add the moisturizer it could lead to damaged cuticle’s and make the hair frizzy and dull. For long thin hair you will need shampoo that cleanses the scalp but not weigh down the hair, followed by a light weight conditioner to strengthen and moisturize the hair shaft. As for the two-in-one products, they work for those with medium to fine hair, cut very short and atop healthy scalp. For everyone else you'll need to use two products to keep your scalp and hair in the best possible condition.
