It's been building for nearly two years but Celebration Pointe is days way from opening in southwest Gainesville with two big events planned. First is the opening on the flyover bridge that crosses I-75 and is expected to relieve traffic congestion from Archer Road and I-75.  Saturday the Celebration Pointe Bridge Walk & Fall Festival is scheduled to begin at 10am with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and commemorative walk over the bridge to raise money for the Child Advocacy Center.  Plus music and food trucks at the end of Southwest 45th Street in Celebration Pointe.  The flyover won't open for vehicle traffic until Sunday (11.5.16).  Then Wednesday evening, the main anchor store, the 81st Bass Pro Shops, officially opens with a slew of celebrities including NASCAR drivers Tony Stewart, driver of the No. 14 Bass Pro Shops/TRACKER Boats Chevrolet® and Martin Truex Jr, driver of the No. 78 Bass Pro Shops /TRACKER Boats Toyota® Camry® in the Sprint Cup Series. Plus a ribbon-cutting and vendor exhibits all starting at 6pm. Other celebrities scheduled to appear include Bassmaster champion Kevin VanDam, the host of TV’s “Jimmy Houston Outdoors,” Allie LaForce, lead reporter of SEC on CBS, TJ Ott of “Wicked Tuna,” former Miami Dolphin and pro fisherman Kendall Newson and more.  Celebrities will sign autographs from approximately 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. The first 400 to receive wristbands prior to 6 p.m. can get autographs from Stewart and Truex.
