A Better Way For Parents To Divide Items Between Siblings

Sibling scuffles over food, toys and attention is as old as time itself.  There have been several ways parents have attempted to keep the peace. Measuring out even portions, let ting them duke it out or taking them away and telling them "Nobody get anything."  While each has its positives and negatives, one child therapists says his “I cut, you pick” strategy, creates “envy-free” divisions. You simply have one child divide the collection of desirable things into two piles or glasses and the other child gets to pick.  Simply reverse the roles next time too.  The idea is that when siblings are required to share, they'll make sure the items are evenly distributed.
