There are awards for just about everything on the planet and that includes fast food sauces.  Editors of the web site AV Club sent their editors out across the country to taste test hundreds of condiments from fast food restaurants and have come up with the tops in each category.  For instance, Ranch was tested from a dozen stores in which they say KFC's Ranch is the best, with "A strong buttermilk tang with a prominent chive flavor." In fact KFC won best taste for mustard and buffalo sauces. Popeye’s won best in specialty ranch with their blackened ranch sauce which as an "excellent balance of flavors".  Sweet and sour sauce honors go to Wendy's Sweet & Sour Dipping Sauce, with "Flavors of pineapples and peppers that reminds you of Chinese takeout. McDonalds wins the BBQ sauce battle, which is "like K.C. Masterpiece but meatier a touch more vinegar."  As for hot sauces, Taco Bell Diablo Hot Sauce, "lingers and lingers." As for the secret "specality" sauces, Chik-Fil-A's sauce wins hands down. Finally the overall best tasting sauces are:

  • #8-McDonald’s Sriracha Mac Sauce.
  • #7-KFC’s Creamy Buffalo.
  • #6 Chick-Fil-A’s Sweet & Spicy Sriracha.
  • # 5-Arby’s Horsey Sauce.
  • #4-Taco Bell’s Diablo Hot Sauce.
  • #3-Popeyes’ Blackened Ranch.
  • #2-Popeyes’ Smok’n Pepper Jam Sauce
  •  #1-Chick-Fil-A Sauce.
