Bananas Are A Bad Idea For Breakfast

Eating a banana at breakfast?  You may be setting yourself up for failure throughout the rest of the day.  While bananas are legendary in their abundance of potassium, magnesium and fiber, they are not the best choice to start the day. Bananas have a super high sugar content (almost 25% of it is sugar) and a moderate acidity level which causes a quick sugar-fueled energy boost followed by a crash that leaves you tired and hungry and wanting to eat more, which may be the worst when you are trying to lose weight.  Add to the bananas woes, having a high sugar content means that sugar is fermented in your digestive system which can cause problems too.  But it's not all doom and gloom for banana.  Experts say you can counteract the sugary rush by eating a little bit of a healthy fat. So pair up a banana with some peanut butter or yogurt to prevent "the crash."
