Back To The Future Inspired Nike Shoes Benefit Parkinson's Research

October 12, 2016

The long awaiting Nike Mag, self-lacing shoes inspired from the 1980s Back To The Future movies finally made their real world debut earlier this month.  But don't look for them on store shelves or even at the Nike web site.  The company only made 89 pairs, which were only available to those who purchased a special raffle ticket from Nike.  However at least one pair sold at a Hong Kong auction house for $104,000 yesterday.  The real winner in the futuristic shoes is the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research, as proceeds from ticket purchases and auction will be donated to the charitable organization named in honor of the Back to the Future star.
