While we are quick to assume that foods with less calories and fat are heathier it isn't always the case.  But that isn't stopping a Spanish company from selling a diet avocado, with less calories and fat than their regular cousins.  Being billed as Avocado Light, the diet fruit has 30% less fat than your standard avocados, ripen faster and maintain their ripeness longer than other brands.  The company that is producing Avocado Light says it will have a mild flavor and all of the creamy dreaminess that avocados are known for. However it is import to point out the fatty acids in avocado good for your body. Monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats can help lower bad cholesterol and avocados are full of them.  But even packed with "good fat" avocados should only be eaten in moderation considering a regular avocado contains about 320 calories and 30 grams of fat.  So the Avocado light may have a home in Spain, where it will be available.  But not all is lost in the United States where the Slimacado, a reduced fat and calorie avocado has been on the market for years.  But reviews of the slimmer version aren't great with many stating it tastes are bland compared to Mother Nature’s unfiltered versions.
