Acne Myths Debunked

Nothing can change you mood faster than feeling that irritating bump on your skin as acne makes itself known.  But there is a lot of mis-information on the causes and treatment of acne breakouts, so let's take a true/false quiz and see how much you know about acne.  #1-greasy foods cause acne. FALSE-greasy foods do not cause acne.  However some foods that contain hormones, like milk and cheese can encourage blemishes, so avoid them if you easily break out. #2-Washing your face frequently prevent acne. FALSE-although washing your face rids it on bacteria and oils, excessive scrubbing can actually cause irritation and add to your blemish woes. Wash your face with a gentle cleanser in the morning and at night. #3-Sunsctreen blocks pores. TRUE-certain sunscreens can clog your pores and cause acne, so look for sunscreens specifically specially formulated not to block pores.
