You can spend a fortune keeping your wardrobe up to date.  It's why many people have found renting clothes through services, such as Rent The Runway, as an economical way to keep their look fresh. The idea has carried over into home furnishings as well. There is a growing industry of innovators that are renting people fashionable furnishings. Programs like Feather, which offers entire rooms of furniture on a subscription service, are a convenient way to furnish a home without packing it up and carrying it to another home. Or a cheaper option of keeping your home fashion forward without going bankrupt. Considering people move up to 12 times before buying a home, it can be a great way to furnish an apartment or home without the costs associated with moving or having to purchase new items that fit your latest home. Renters can rent a piece or package with multiple items for 12 months. Once your plan is over, you can choose whether you want to renew your rental (and pay less), swap out your pieces for something new, or pay the difference to own it. However it isn't the best idea for everyone. Long term furniture rentals can be costly and there is a point where it is more economical to own your furniture. Before you decide to rent or buy your furniture, it’s a good idea to weigh the pros and cons.
