Prevent All Ads On YouTube Videos With This Hack

June 15, 2020

If you've ever wanted to watch anything from a Sahara sunrise to how to cook chicken cacciatore, you'll most likely find a video of it on YouTube. You'll also be dealing with video pop-up ads that pre-roll before your selected video begins.  While most videos can be skipped after 5 seconds (should you even have to ask?), there's an apparent hack that will stop these pop-up videos in their tracks. This hack, or rather glitch, works only when watching videos through a web browser, not the YouTube app. All you have to do is to put a period after the YouTube domain in the URL. So if the address of a World Wide Web page shows "” simply adding a period after the "dot com" ( should stop all the ads. How long this hack works depends on when YouTube's owners, Google, fixes it.  So for now, enjoy ad-free videos.
