Christmas is a magical time of the year, especially for children as Santa comes to town with presents for all the good girls and boys.  But World Against Toys Causing Harm, or W.A.T.C.H.is alerting Santa to some toys that may be dangerous for kids.  For the 46th year, the nonprofit organization has released their Top 10 Worst Toys, based on safety. Although you wouldn't think a Cabbage Patch Kids doll as dangerous but this year's ballerina doll is marketed to children ages two and above, but includes a removable tutu and headband that can be choking hazards. The Marvel Black panther Slash Claw has rigid, plastic claws, based on a popular comic book and movie character, that can cause injury to kids its target, which are 5 years old and up to “slash” like the Black Panther, while simultaneously advising not to “hit or swing at people. The Power Rangers Super Ninja Steel Superstar Blade is spring-loaded and can cause facial and other impact injuries. The Zoo Jamz multi-colored caterpillar-themed Xylophone from vtech is sold for babies as young as 1 ½ years old with a 9-inch-long drumstick handle, which can potentially be a choking hazard. The Kid-O Toys cutting fruit is marketed towards two year olds but the "slicing knife" use to slice magnetic pieces of plastic fruit can potentially cause puncture wounds. The organizations cautions parents to shop "defensively" and not be lulled into a false sense of security because a toy is made by a familiar brand or sold at an established retailer. One child is treated in a U.S. emergency room every three minutes for a toy-related injury, according to the Center for Injury and Research at Nationwide Children's Hospital.
