The horror of cooler weather is finding out your favorite sweater, the one you can wear just a couple time s a year, accidently got mixed in the wash and now can barely squeeze over your elbow!  Usually a shrunken sweater ends up at a donation center but there's hope to unshrink your sweater; or at the very least give this a shot to revive it to its regular size. All that is needed is a sink full of lukewarm water and a cap of baby hair shampoo. Soak your shrunken sweater, jeans, t-shirt or other clothing in the mixture for about 10 minutes.  The delicate baby shampoo should relax the fibers of the shrunken clothing. For a wool sweater, you may need to add a couple of capfuls of shampoo. Drain the sink of water and gently squeeze the garment to remove excess water.  Do not rinse it with clean water. Place a towel on a flat surface and lay the sweater over it. Roll the towel up, with the clothing in it, to absorb more water. The garment should be damp but not wet. Then place the clothing on a fresh, dry towel and gently stretch it while it's still damp. Keep it flat until it dries.
