One of the iPhones and iPad security features is to "lock" the phone for a certain amount of time if the wrong passcode is entered repeatedly, which can range from a few minutes to a few hours.  However one iPad owner is going to be waiting a long time after his 3-year old kept entering the wrong passcode. Evan Osnos posted pictures of the "lock out" message displayed, stating his iPad was disabled for 25,536,442 minutes.  That means, Evan can attempt to re-enter the correct passcode in 49 years! The problem does not seem to have been resolved although according to official Apple instructions, entering the wrong password multiple times erases its content. Fortunately, Evan doesn't have to wait until the year 2068 to unlock his iPad. He will need to remove your passcode by performing a restore and copying data from the last backup on to the device.  Another good reason to routinely back up your devices, especially if you happen to have a 3-year old who likes to enter the wrong passcode several times!
